Lifestyle Coaching

Improve Nutrition

What we eat influences our mood, ability to focus and think clearly, energy levels, and physical health. By optimizing nutrition, we can improve  health and well-being.

Get Active

An active body is a healthy body. Coaching can help you figure out how to find the activities that will keep you interested, motivated, and feeling great for the long term.

Reduce Stress

Reducing stress is key to eating better, staying active, sleeping more soundly, maintaining close relationships, and getting stuff done.

My Coaching Approach

People come to coaching for a variety of reasons and with a unique set of goals. But there is one commonality that exists among everyone.

We’re all multi-faceted human beings that benefit from a multi-pronged approach to better health.

Talk alone isn’t good enough. My approach is one based on evidence of how movement, nutrition, breath work, and other activities can help benefit physical and emotional health .

Living healthy is about developing habits that work for your body and lifestyle. So we’ll work to find the best balance for you.

The key is building healthy habits that last.

Coaching Packages & Options

I offer single 60-minute sessions and 3- and 6-month coaching packages based on your needs. While anyone can benefit from a single session, long-term change in mindset and behavior generally takes at least a few months.

All packages include assessments of your physical health, emotional health, nutrition, activity level, lifestyle, needs, and desires, as well as personalized coaching delivered in a way that benefits you the most. Sessions are generally weekly or bi-weekly and all packages include personalized resources and email/text support.

Unlike other health professionals you may interact with, coaching allows you to be in the driver’s seat. You are in control of what we discuss and how we address it. I’ll be your guide, supporter, and partner in a journey to better health for the long-term.

Lifestyle Coaching

This program is focused on helping you identify what you most need to change in order to jumpstart a healthier and happier life.

Program Details

This program includes;

  • clarifying what it is that you really want out of life
  • finding the overlap in who you are, what you value, and your goals
  • exploring the connections between your physical health, emotional health, activity level, nutrition, sleep, relationships, home life, and job
  • discovering what is holding you back from a healthier and more fulfilling life
  • working to create a mindset of self-acceptance, self-confidence, and positivity
  • creating action-oriented steps to develop new and healthier habits

We’ll identify and focus on no more than two areas of your life at a time. Once you create positive change in one area of your life, it creates change in other areas as well.

Let’s talk!

Don’t just take it from me, let my clients do the talking. And no, they’re not actually animated. I honor their privacy and keep personal information confidential.

“I came to coaching because I wanted to lose weight…. but the process Amanda took me through turned everything around for me. I always thought about my weight but didn’t connect the dots to stress and my anxiety. Figuring out how to deal with it has made huge difference. I feel so much better and I’ve finally started to lose weight.”

Rose, 52, Raleigh, NC

Amanda listed with an attentive ear, she was encouraging and supportive throughout the process. Coaching changed my life and helped me achieve my personal goals. Frequently Asked Questions

Does coaching really work?

Yes! Scientific studies published in peer-reviewed journals show the benefit of health coaching in promoting health. Using a systematic process grounded in science, we’ll work together to identify your goals, uncover what is holding you back, and develop clear and directed action steps that bring you closer to better health. We’ll draw on your creativity, intelligence, strength, and resilience to work on creating healtheir habits that last.

Are you just going to give me advice?

Coaching is often misused to represent a mentor or expert advisor. The official job of a coach (as defined by the International Coaching Federation) is to help you find your own solutions. We assume that you are smart, resourceful, creative and the expert of your own life. You know what works for you and what doesn’t, what fits well into your day-to-day routine, and what you’ll stick with over time. My job is to guide you through the process of discovery and insight. While I’ll be there to brainstorm and make suggestions, I am not going to just tell you what to do. This approach of coaching (vs. simple advice giving) has been found to be highly effective in directing people towards sustainable change.

Do you just work with women?

No! I work with just as many men as women. In fact, I work with people from all backgrounds and walks of life. The one thing that all my clients share is a desire to change and a willingness to try different strategies in order to do so.

Do you deal just with nutrition and fitness?

I address a variety of other life domains in my coaching sessions. I chose to focus on nutrition and fitness because I’ve found that when you treat your body well, other things follow. Energy increases, focus improves, mood brightens, social circles widen. When you feel and look good, your confidence soars and things that seemed beyond reach can suddenly become more accessible. With that said, some people reach out to me wanting to address issues related to career advancement or relationships. I coach in these areas as well, usually focusing on rethinking goals, redefining self-image, and developing a mindset of positivity and growth.

Do you use nutrition to treat medical disorders?

No. I am not a registered dietician and do not make nutritional plans to treat medical disorders. If you are in need of such services, I recommend reaching out to someone specializing in medical nutrition therapy. As a nutrition coach, I can provide general nutrition information, help you understand what underlies your current food choices, guide you through the process of helping you find healthy foods that you love, and aid you in designing a life that supports eating right for your body and lifestyle.

How do I know if you're the right coach for me?

I can’t promise you that I am the right coach for you. This is precisely why I offer free 20-minute strategy sessions. Even if you like everything you read on this website, you may decide that I don’t have the personality or approach that works best for you. And that is perfectly fine. On the flip side, If I don’t think I can help you, I’ll offer referrals to other coaches or professionals who might be a better fit. I’ve turned away plenty of clients because I know that my services are not what they need or are looking for at this moment. The only way to make this determination is to talk in person or via phone or Skype in an introductory strategy session. I’ll do my best to ensure that you get the best service possible – whether it’s with me or someone else.

Still have questions?
